Celebrating creativity, music, and culture. My role at TikTok Creative Lab was to consult brands with creative and art direction to launch campaigns on TikTok. Here are a few from 50+ campaigns I have consulted.


Hudson’s Bay #HolidayYourWay

My role was to provide creative consultations, animated mock-ups, and storyboards to show how Canada’s Hudson’s bay holiday campaign can come to life through a branded effects hashtag challenge. Submitted user videos were featured on the storefronts. Their main objective was to bring more traffic to visit in-store and of course to their beautifully decorated windows.

Macy’s #OwnYourStyle

Our role was to provide sonic strategy and visual mock-ups to natively bring Macy's #OwnYourStyle campaign to life on the platform. The campaign encouraged TikTokers to express their “style” through the hashtag challenge. TikToks from this challenge were featured at Times Square in New York City and the hashtag challenge accumulated up to 9.2B video views.

Macy's tapped us to extend their holiday gift finder activation onto TikTok. My role was to provide creative guidance on the feasibility of the effects, copywriting that could spark co-creation, and user experience insights to make the campaign feel native.

Tiffany & Co. Exhibit

My role was to ideate campaign ideas for Tiffany & Co. to promote the Visions of Virtuosity exhibit in London. Supported Tiffany & Co. to collaborate with fashion, art, film, and photography creators that meet the level of craftsmanship of the brand. Since the first successful campaign, Tiffany & Co. tapped us to launch the ‘Back to Silver’ campaign and their ‘Modern love’ campaign.

American Eagle #AEJeansSoundOn

My role was to provide creative strategy from ideation to launch for American Eagle’s Back to School campaign focused on music, jeans, and youth. For this first-to-market SoundOn partnership campaign,  American Eagle signed aspiring TikTok artist Katherine Li to release an AE version of her song “happening again.” #AEJeansSoundOn resulted as AE’s most successful hashtag challenge, and AE created a branded music video with Katherine Li.

This project meant a lot to me because I had the opportunity to showcase an Asian artist who is often overlooked in the mainstream :)

My role was to bring KSNY’s pop-up cabana experience onto TikTok via the branded effects hashtag challenge through art direction and sonic strategy. Created variations of animated mock-ups and supported the production partners to help bring this to life.

Thoughts

Did you ever think TikTok filters were not as polished as SnapChat’s? Well, that’s the challenge. Since TikTok is not a camera app but an entertainment app, I had to wiggle around technical constraints when pitching visual filter-based campaigns while keeping in mind the creative strategy. It was a challenge but still supported over 20+ branded effects campaigns. Here’s the mock-up graveyard. Enjoy.
